József Szendi: It was easy to rope in those, whom they threatened and manhandled.

József Szendi, retired Archbishop of Veszprém, offered his book Számvetés [Reckoning] to his readers with the thought that the terror that called itself a democracy, the godless Communist regime, tried to obstruct knowledge of the history of the Catholic Church's persecution not only by mendacious propaganda, but also by suppressing the facts. One of the chapters of the book bears the title: "The Communist terror's atheist reign of terror". What did he mean?
