The Hungarian Revolution

At the end of World WarII, Hungary was on the losing side. The Paris Peace Pact reinforced the conditions of the Trianon Pact, thus annexing 72% of Hungarian territory and 64% of the Hungarian population to neighboring countries. The war left behind demolished cities and a people that suffered casualties, captivity and death. "Behind the back of the country", the victorious powers - the United States of America, Great Britain and the Soviet Union - decided that Hungary would come under the rule of the Soviets and their all-powerful leader, Stalin.
