A history hidden by photographs: the true history of housing for Roma is at times obstructed by pictures that, looking from the outside, justify the romaniticization of a love of freedom. More often it is the fear of the majority, along with aversion and exclusion, that obstruct the true images of housing and Roma. For centuries, these pictures introduce those deemed „incapable of fitting in": snapshots of the idle, thei people who „live for the day," the run-down apartments, the stripped parquet. Or the image held by the majority that Roma have wandering „in their! blood." |
