The House of Terror Museum is easily accessible by the Millennium underground (M1) or tram 4 / 6. It is a short walk from Vörösmarty utca underground station or Oktogon tram stop.

NO ONLINE TICKET PURCHASE

Tickets are only available for purchase at the museum and no online payment option is available. For individual visitors admission is continuous each day. Booking is only available for group visits and guided tours can be booked for groups of min. 10 people. (For group visits please see GROUP BOOKING)

- For people aged between 6-25, 62-70 for citizens of EEA - European Economic Area

- For families (at least two people under 18 and their immediate relatives, (citizens of EEA - European Economic Area)

 

Please note that reduced admission is subject to documents confirming your eligibility (e.g. passport, identity card, driving license, teacher ID cards, etc.)

All discounts listed here are regulated by the Government Decree No 194/2000. (XI. 24.) on benefits at museum admission. The full text of the decree is available HERE.

In case of booked visits groups receive priority entry and have the option to add a guided tour to their visit. Group visits and guided tours must be booked at least ten days prior to your visit. Guided tours are an optional service and you may book one or visit without it. The maximum number of people to enter the museum at the same time is 30, any group larger than that, will be divided into two and may enter with 10-15 difference approx. Groups may visit without booking, but in that case they may have to cope with significant waiting time.

 

We offer guided tours in English*.

The price of an English-speaking guided tour: 20000 HUF/group (maximum 30 people)

 

Audio Guide: 2000 HUF

Audio guides are available here without booking in English, German, Spanish, Russian, French, and Italian.

*Please note that guided tours are subject to availability and have to be booked at least 10 days prior to your visit. Please contact us via phone or e-mail to inquire about availabilities.

GROUP VISITS

Group ticket: 3000 HUF/visitor (min. 20 people)

Group reduced-price ticket*: 1500 HUF/visitor (min. 20 people)

*(For people aged between 6-25, 62-70 citizens of EEA - European Economic Area). Group discounts apply for tickets of the same category.

FREE ADMISSION

For teachers (EEA citizens showing an identification of being a teacher or International Teacher Identity Card) and people aged 70 or older (EEA citizens) the entrance is free.

The following people may visit the Museum free of charge in regular opening times:
(194/2000 XI. 24. Gov. Decree)

- minors up to the age of 6
- citizens of the European Union aged 70 and older
-people with disabilities and their companion (up to 1 person)
(people possessing an official disability ID card issued by the Hungarian State Treasury confirming that they receive disability subsidies or any other ID confirming their disability (eg. medical certificates stating the fact of disability requested by the Hungarian State Treasury and a proof of identity). Other certificates of the Hungarian State Treasury are not acceptable (eg. increased family allowances) as the disability is not stated in them.
- teachers and retired teachers
- the holders of professional access card issued by the Secretary of State
- beneficiaries of international treaties
- members of national professional organisations with national public competence, related to museums and public collections, having at least 400 members


Admission is free of charge for the citizens of the EEA-European economic area on the first Sunday of each month:
-children under the age of 18 and their escort (max. 2 people -immediate relatives)
-for people under 26
