All discounts listed here are regulated by the Government Decree No 194/2000. (XI. 24.) on benefits at museum admission. The full text of the decree is available HERE.
The discounts listed have been defined in accordance with the relevant legislation and under the authority of the Director-General. IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE DISCOUNTS, VISITORS ARE REQUIRED TO PRESENT PHOTO IDENTIFICATION CLEARLY CONFIRMING THEIR ELIGIBILITY as well as their citizenship where applicable.
FREE ADMISSION
For teachers (EEA citizens showing an identification of being a teacher or International Teacher Identity Card) and people aged 70 or older (EEA citizens) the entrance is free.
The following people may visit the Museum free of charge in regular opening times (194/2000 XI. 24. Gov. Decree):
- minors up to the age of 6
- citizens of the EEA - European Economic Area - aged 70 and older
- people with disabilities and their companion (up to 1 person)
(People possessing an official disability ID card issued by their home country. We are not able to accept medical documents.) - teachers and retired teachers (EEA citizens showing an official teachers’ ID or a certificate in English from the school stating they are employed as teachers) of primary and secondary education
- beneficiaries of international treaties
Admission is free of charge for the citizens of the of the EEA - European Economic Area on the first Sunday of each month:
- children under the age of 18 and their escort (max. 2 people - immediate relatives)
- for people under 26
